Community Engagement Co-ordinator (Part-time, 0.6 FTE)
Willoughby and Northbridge Uniting Church
Do you have a passion for building connections, nurturing community, and helping people feel a sense of belonging? Are you someone who loves engaging with people from all walks of life and creating opportunities for meaningful relationships to grow?
Willoughby and Northbridge Uniting is a vibrant, welcoming church community seeking a Community Engagement Co-ordinator to help us deepen our relationships with people across the Willoughby LGA.
We are a congregation that values inclusivity, hospitality, and care, and we believe our church spaces can be a hub of community life. From young families to those experiencing loneliness or isolation, we want to be a place where everyone feels they belong.
About the Role
In this part-time role (22.8 hours per week – flexible across the week), salary negotiable dependent on experience, you will:
- Connect with individuals, families, and groups across our diverse local community
- Support and expand initiatives such as our Playgroups, community garden, and midweek activities
- Explore creative new opportunities to foster belonging, such as developing an inclusive “village green” space
- Help us host and promote community events, including our much-loved annual Spring Fair
- Work alongside our Minister, Youth and Children’s Pastor, and a committed team of volunteers to bring ideas to life
This role is about people – listening, engaging, and creating spaces where connections can grow. You won’t do this alone – you’ll be resourcing and encouraging others in our congregation to join in this work of welcome and community-building.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Warm, personable, and able to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds
- Experienced in community engagement or community development
- Organised and proactive, able to manage projects and bring people together
- Flexible, with some availability to work evenings and weekends
- Comfortable working within the ethos of the Uniting Church (you don’t need to be a member)
What We Offer
- A supportive, collaborative, and purpose-driven work environment
- Flexible hours to suit your circumstances
- The chance to make a real difference in people’s lives and in the wider community
- The opportunity to shape creative new initiatives in a well-resourced church with excellent facilities
If you’re excited by the idea of helping people find connection and belonging, we’d love to hear from you. Please send your CV and a cover letter outlining how you will be a great fit for this role to the Church Mission Council via of****@*******************rg.au
